The one who bought the white elephant from Thipao
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
The foreigner who paid $250,000 (US$250,000) to buy a white elephant named "Mountain" from Thipao, the last dynasty of the Khon Pao era, was American P.T Barnum.
He spends a lot of money traveling around the world exhibiting exotic exhibits. On March 28, 1884 (Moe Myint Maung-20), they bought a mountain from Thipao Min and took it to London on the English ship Lydian Monarch, which was docked at Yangon port, and then continued to New York City in the United States. Along with a white elephant, Bochu and Bachu, the elephant keepers, accompanied him.
A telegram from Daniel B. Sickles, a buyer who had bought a mountain in Mandalay, announced that a snow-white elephant would arrive in New York in a few days.
Not long after, a large ship carrying a mountain from Burma arrived at New York Harbor. Peti Ba Khim also went on board the ship to welcome a big white elephant along with the journalists. When he saw a mountain, he thought that his vision was wrong, and even a child became disappointed.
I thought that a mountain to kiss Pitibar would have a white color like cow's milk. But now, the mountain he saw was not white, but a white yawning light gray body covered with pink spots and pink eyes.
I was disappointed to find that it was not as white as I thought, but I was relieved that it was not bad. When the reporters said that he was not as white as he thought:
"Here, children, that white elephant will be as white as God made it. If I could make a white elephant, it would be as white as snow."
- He answered with a smile.
A mountain is a real white elephant. Not wanting to know, Petibar Kiss hired elephant experts from Thailand to inspect them. The elephant experts who came from Thailand thoroughly examined the mountain and confirmed that it was a real white elephant. Then I started to feel cold and happy.
A white elephant sold by Thipao became the only white elephant in the United States.
